CONNECT AND GROW

We believe the purpose God has for every believer begins with connecting in a local church where a cooperate vision stirs each individual to rise to their fullest potential In Christ. Each individual’s calling is vital to the overall advancement of the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 12:18 (NKJV) says, “…now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.” The human body is made of many individual parts and it’s necessary that each part work in conjunction with the rest of the body. Likewise the church, made up of many members, will function the most efficiently when it is assembled properly. The supernatural relationships formed in the local church creates a movement that has eternal effects. Psalms 92:13 (NKJV) says, “Those who are planted in the house of the Lord Shall flourish in the courts of our God.”

 

FAMILY ENVIRONMENT

We believe church is much more than a building or location only. The Church is the family of God. When the family is assembled together in a corporate atmosphere of worship for Jesus Christ amazing things occur. But, the most amazing things occur once each individual member who has been affected by the power of God carries that power into their homes and communities. So, we are endeavoring to create an atmosphere at Word of Life Church where believers from all walks of life can connect and discover their individual purpose for life.

BIBLE BASED | The teachings found in the Bible are the basis for all that we do and teach as a local church.
God’s Word is our firm foundation and the source of our faith.

CHRIST CENTERED
 | We are a ministry that is focused on Jesus Christ; the source of all life. We believe salvation is found only through faith in the power of His death, burial and resurrection.

FULL GOSPEL
 | We emphasize power of the Spirit filled life and the many benefits that accompany it. All of the gifts of the Holy Spirit are welcomed just as they were in the early church as mentioned in the book of Acts.

Pastor Josh and Conswella Vanhook

Josh and Conswella live in Logan, West Virginia where they have been the pastors at Word of Life Church since 2010.  They are originally from south-central Kentucky where both of them grew up on family farms near Stanford. They were married shortly after high school and have now been happily married for 22 years.

Josh, formally an industrial electrician and Conswella a cosmetologist received the call into ministry while working with their church youth group in the year 2000.  They both received their ministerial education at Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  While there, they became actively involved at the Prayer and Healing Center where folks visit from around the world to be healed.

Their passion in ministry is to see the church rise up and take its place in Christ Jesus, so that the world might be reached with the gospel.  This occurs as each believer lives a life influenced by the Holy Spirit and a maintained sensitivity to God’s indwelling presence. They encourage believers to act boldly in response to the Word of God. Each believe strongly in the church’s role to be witnesses in this generation by allowing the Holy Spirit to demonstrate and confirm the Word of God with signs following.  Pastor’s Josh and Conswella preach a bold message of faith and love to see lives changed through the impartation of the Holy Spirit.
